Snickerdoodles

Who doesn't love snickerdoodles? I really don't want to know what might be wrong with someone who doesn't like snickerdoodles. Forget I asked.

1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup softened butter
1 1/2 cup white sugar
2 eggs
2 3/4 cup white flour
2 t. cream of tartar
1/2 t. salt
1 t. baking soda
1/2 cup sugar
2 T. cinnamon

The first step is to cream the shortening and butter together really well, then add in 1 1/2 cup of sugar and cream again. Once the cream is smooth, add two eggs and cream again.

Stop and smile, you can tell this is going to be good.

Now, add the 2 3/4 cups of flour, the cream of tartar, salt, and baking soda to the creamed sugar. Mix it well until a thick cookie dough forms.

Mix the 1/2 cup of sugar with the 2 T. of cinnamon in a small bowl, then form the dough into balls slightly larger than a golf ball and roll them in the sugar cinnamon mixture. Finally, bake at 375 degrees for ten minutes. Don't eat the dough, it's addicting; especially if you take little dough balls and roll them in the cinnamon and sugar.

You're welcome.
